Xrabit + DMG$ - Live, mo'f*cker!!!
At last the wait is over. In a transatlantic alliance that has stood the test of, ooh, months, the pocket battleship Xrabit will be joined by the US Aircraft Carriers Trak Bully and Cool Bully. Together they will slide gracefully and quietly into the icy waters of your mind and BLOW SHIT UP. Yes, it's official (kind of) and to prove it the boys will be gathering in West London for the hep YoYo! night at the achingly so-there Notting Hill Arts Club on this very Thursday night to prove once and for all that they are FOR REAL. I'm not sure what I mean by any of this except to assure that the show will be off the hooky-wook. And - just to make it even more "future's-so-bright" our dear friends at Trainerspotter are giving us THIRTY pairs of their latest marvellous shades, to give to the first thirty people who approach the band and whisper "Hello world" to them, with a winning smile on their chops (it's the name of the debut album innit?). Anyway, be there or feel like a fake when Kanye is supporting them at the O2 in a year, and you're telling everyone you saw their first UK show. Blah. Just be there. Okay? (Oh and bring photo-ID. They throw in surveillance for free...)
This Sunday afternoon you can see Speech Debelle and her marvellous band for absolute freeness just by hanging round a cold bandstand in Clerkenwell. Yeah, it is actually true. Speech has been asked to play a short set for www.bandstandbusking.com bandstandbusking.com> and it's in Northampton Square from 1pm. We promise: no brassbands. Bracing atmosphere. Free birdshit.
Please come.... Bring your gran. She might drive you there and won't realise what it is until too late...
Time: 1pm: Esser (Transgressive Records), 1.30pm Speech Debelle (Big Dada Records). - 3 acoustic songs
Address: City University, Northampton Square, London EC1V 0HB (the bandstand's right beside the uni).
