Solid Steel Radio 14/09/2012 - Coldcut, dEbruit

Solid Steel in association with Serato (14th September) Coldcut return from an appearance at Bestival with a huge mix to mark the end of festival season. Kicking off with a couple of reggae licks from Dillinger and King Tubby, then onto the DJ C remix for Sub Swara and keeping half time with Scuba and the lush vocals of Joanna Law. It's tough beats all the way with RackNRuin, Krueger and Terror Danjah, before Burro Banton joins Poirier and classic Hashim is remixed by Bassmint. Hip hop from Jeru the Damaja, Beastie Boys and Roots Manuva take us to the end, but not before a DnB workout from Serial Killaz.

It's a pleasure to welcome dEbruit in hour 2, celebrating the CD release of his album 'From The Horizon' with a mix that crosses the globe with musical influences from Nigeria with The Funkees and Dr Adolf Ahanotu, Congolese Kokono no 1 and stateside with Liquid Liquid and hip hop legends Jeru the Damaja and A Tribe Called Quest. All this plus cuts from his album round off an excellent mix.

PC drops by to finish up the show with a heavy jazz selection with big guns Jimmy Smith, Duke Ellington mixing with Peter Herbolzheimer, Rusty Bryant and Charles Kynard.
