Solid Steel Radio 15-11-13: DK, Pal Joey, Ashley Beedle

DK gets the show started with new music from Wiley, Special Request, Run The Jewels and Illum Sphere, plus original dub from The Revolutionaries and into the Loefah remix of "i" for Skream from 2006.

Then it's a switch into a superb new Stubborn Heart remix for Scrimshire, the lush deep house of North Lakes and into Carl Craig's classic rework of Cesaria Evora, before ending with a track from our first guest Pal Joey.

The New York deep house pioneer has a 23 track anthology out now on BBE and fitting for our 25th Anniversary, we have an exclusive Pal Joey mix from 1987. We don't have a track list, but you'll hear music from Ralphi Rosario, Robert Owens and Class Action amongst others from that period.

Our second guest in Hour 2 is Ashley Beedle, a legendary figure on the British club scene for more than 20 years and involved with numerous projects including The Ballistic Brothers, Black Science Orchestra, X-Press 2 and now under his own name on Girls Music.

A man who is at home playing and producing deep funk, soul and reggae as he is with cutting edge house and techno and everything in-between. For our 25th Anniversary he delivers a vinyl selection of the highest quality with music from Gil Scott Heron, Curtis Mayfield, Van McCoy, Lighthouse and Jess Roden. Ashley Beedle Yardism 2 is out on Girls Music 2nd December

DK book ends the show with more music from the excellent Peruvian Latin compilation Peru Maravilloso and Angola Soundtrack 2 on Analog Africa, plus The Electric Peanut Butter Company and ending on beautiful music from James Heather.
