This week Coldcut pay tribute to the Godfather of Go Go, Chuck Brown, who created the distinctive form of American music fusing a mixture of Funk, Latin, Soul and Caribbean rhythms. We hear music that inspired him, his work with the Soul Searchers and his Go Go classics, many of which were sampled by hip hop artists over the years and by Coldcut themselves.

In hour 2 we welcome Dobie, a legendary figure in black British music. Having worked on the first two Soul II Soul albums, produced London Posse and remixed everyone from Bjork to Gangstarr, he now has an EP, Nothing To Fear, out on Big Dada. Music featured includes Chris Turner, Nas, The Beatles and a track from Dobie himself.

To close DJ Irk presents his Radio For Speaking To God mix. We begin with an atmospheric Amon Tobin soundscape, complete with samples and scratches, then it's straight into hip hop from Suff Daddy, Associated Minds, Quakers and more. After that it's deep in to some heavy electronic sounds from Robot Koch, Jon Phonics and KidKanevil, then an intense ramp-up for a D'n'B closeout.

The presented version can be heard here.
