Solid Steel Radio 16/11/2012 - DK, Dark Sky + Solid Steel Night November 16th

Solid Steel in association with Serato (16th November) DK in the hot seat this week and straight in with brand new music by My Dry Wet Mess on Brainfeeder, the Mike Q and Divoli S'vere remix for Falty DL and a track from the forthcoming EP from Dobie, followed by the classic Scorpio by Dennis Coffey, which is ripped to shreds by Dawn Day Night. Mr Lexx & Nikisha take on TNGHT courtesy of Heatwave, Jah Screechy gives his version of the Answer Riddim and Fox delivers his lines over Lion by Harmonic 313. We follow with classic late 80's soundsystem soul from The Naturals, Kelpe on remix duties for both Fulgeance and Tropics, before stretching out and ending on a high with Maurice Fulton remixing Rhye, essential Francois K production for Unlimited Touch and an uplifting track from the Daphni album to close.

You can catch DK at the Solid Steel night in Brighton tonight Friday 16th at the Blind Tiger alongside Banks and 2econd Class Citizen.

We welcome Dark Sky in Hour 2 for a quality mix opening with our own DJ Food from the Kaleidoscope album and into Lalo Schifrin from the Bullitt soundtrack and J Rocc dropping in to introduce Madlib with his collaboration with MF Doom. Then it's the soulful Taste of Honey, another appearance from both Daphni and Mark Pritchard (this time in his Harmonic 313 guise), plus a trio of unreleased tracks from Dark Sky themselves and finishing with the superb Lion by Fourtet

DK returns to close up continuing with a Kalimba vibe from Earth, Wind & Fire and Philip Cohran, (who inspired EWF to use the African instrument) plus more jazz with an African slant from Carlos Garnett and The Pyramids.
