The Long Lost And Speech Debelle Live In London

The Long Lost and Speech Debelle are both playing on the at the forthcoming Broken Yolk night at Barden's Boudoir on Thursday 19th March.

The Long Lost The Long Lost consists of husband-&-wife team Alfred (Voice, Guitar) and Laura Darlington (Voice, Flute) who will be joined on stage for their live dates by Amir Yaghmai (Violin) & Jonathan Larroquette (Electronics), aka electronic duo Jogger. In contrast to the avant-electronics and hip-hop aesthetics of Alfred's music as Daedelus, The Long Lost is a sublime union of two songwriters & producers with a penchant for sad sounds and delicate, electro-acoustic melodies - psychedelic lullabies for lovers and lovelorn.

Speech Debelle The first thing about Speech Debelle that strikes the ear is a contrast. Her voice is warm, youthful and listenable, and if you heard her in the background you might assume that her lyrics were the same. You'd be better placed tuning into them. In common with her new label-mate Roots Manuva, she's astoundingly honest in her music, detailing and exorcising some very personal demons. That isn't to say she's another run of the mill rapper with more complaints than insights. Quite the opposite. Like all musicians worth listening to, she draws you into her universe and makes you glad you visited. There's always a thaw to the chillier moments.

Joined by her band she will be performing a very special one off gig featuring tracks from her debut album 'Speech Therapy' released later in the year on Big Dada.
