Andreya Triana says: “I wrote this song about feeling good about life, my love of music and how it feels to sing. I wanted to write something that made me feel good every time I listened to it! At the start of writing ‘Gold’ I knew I wanted the chorus to be a big chant that anyone could sing. The writing process was really organic and a lot of fun.”
Hailing from South London, Andreya’s work is straight from the heart. There is an honesty behind her music that draws in the listener, a beguiling and all-too-rare quality but Andreya has already earned her stripes having collaborated with highly acclaimed artists and producers, including legendary electronic musician and producer Flying Lotus on the track "Tea Leaf" Dancers’. It was this song that caught the attention of Bonobo who went on to produce Andreya’s debut album, Lost Where I Belong. She also featured on several of the tracks from his own album, Black Sands, including the stunning ‘Eyesdown’. Both al-bums were released in 2010 earning the Accolades of Soul Breakthrough Album of the Year and Electronic Album of the Year respectively on iTunes. Breach remixed her original track "Everything You Never Had" and the remix reached the Top Ten in November 2013 and was A-List at BBC Radio 1. Andreya was also celebrated in the Evening Standard’s Power 1000 List of Most Influential Londoners and was invited by the Arts Editor to perform at the event they held at Battersea Power Station.
This EP has been supported by the Momentum Music Fund. Momentum is managed by PRS for Music Foundation with support from the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
