Solid Steel Radio 12-07-13 - Kormac, Neuropol & DJ Moneyshot

Kormac returns to Solid Steel with an uptempo mix, kicking off the first hour with "Pinnacles" by Four Tet and into Jesse Rose, Todd Terje and the Martyn remix of "She sleeps" for Falty DL.

Then it's a couple of tracks on Monkeytown Records before switching up the pace to Sub Focus, Congo Natty and Calyx & Teebee.

In the second half it's Neuropol who has appeared many times on the show, but in a different incarnation. Here he's showcasing his new music alongside other bass heavy beats from the likes of EAN, Danny Scrilla, Om Unit, Dawn Day Night and Dub Phizix.

To celebrate 25 years of Solid Steel radio DJ Moneyshot has pieced together what he calls his "Selector's Commentary" mix. This extra special hour-long set weaves together a host of classic Electronic, Dub, Ambient, D&B and Hip-Hop tunes with the added bonus of having the men behind the music providing insight and anecdotes on the tracks at hand.

Moneyshot has scoured through four years worth of interviews to get the stories behind some of the Broadest Beats...

Hear Jason Swinscoe from The Cinematic Orchestra talk about guest vocals from Roots Manuva, Photek breaking down his approach to chopping up respected drummers like Max Roach for his epic Jungle workouts, James Lavelle discussing the pressure of press over UNKLE and The Orb's Dr Alex Paterson talking about the classic 'Adventures Beyond The Ultraworld'.
