Super Button Masher
by Button Masher

— Released 4th September 2026 on Brainfeeder

GRAMMY-winning arranger, electronic musician, composer and educator Button Masher (aka Jake Silverman) announces his new album ‘Super Button Masher’, out September 4th on Brainfeeder. Through his acclaimed Button Masher project, Silverman produces ambitious, cross-genre compositions that merge sophisticated harmonies with the nostalgic, distinct textures of 8-bit and 16-bit soundscapes.
‘Super Button Masher’, serves as a creative bridge connecting 90s childhood influences with his sophisticated contemporary musicianship. By meticulously reconstructing the 8-bit and 16-bit audio landscapes of the Super Nintendo era, Silverman fuses nostalgic gaming textures with the complex technical arrangements and harmonies he developed over his musical career. The project transcends simple homage, delivering a "genre-bending" chiptune experience that integrates his varied musical background into a singular, intricate work.

Speaking more about the album, Silverman says, “Growing up in the 90s my brother, myself and all the neighborhood kids loved playing video games. Our first console was the Super Nintendo. My upcoming album Super Button Masher is my attempt at merging the nostalgia of those timeless memories with all that I’ve learned over the years as a working musician in the DMV, New York and LA. I hope this album will take you back to simpler days.”
