Mechanics of Love (Stripped) / Faust (Stripped)
by Kit Sebastian

— Released 12th November 2025 on Brainfeeder

Kit Sebastian – the stellar duo of Merve Erdem and K. Martin – share two stripped-back, acoustic arrangements of ‘Mechanics of Love’ and ‘Faust’, both lifted from their 2024 album “New Internationale” on Brainfeeder.
“Studio wizardry and lo-fi abstraction is an integral part of our sound, but we felt so proud of the compositions and lyrics from the New Internationale album that we wanted to do stripped down versions to showcase them,” explain K. and Merve. “The space within the instrumentation allowed the vocals to explore a freer and jazzier interpretation of these songs.”
Instrumentally, ‘Mechanics of Love’ features simply an oud, piano, bass and vintage drum machine, highlighting the intrinsic fusion of the duo’s Middle Eastern and jazz influences.

Meanwhile, ‘Faust’ features a saz, bass and a Hammond organ plus Leslie speaker cabinet… “to try and explore as many sounds as one can with the organ” says K.
