APC remixes Busdriver, Launches Remix Contest, opens for The Juan Maclean!
APC just remixed Busdriver's "Most Favorite Rapper" which premiered on XLR8R recently! Hear the song here: As the mag states, "LA's Busdriver is one of the more hated MCs in the game, with his quirky spitting style and harsh words for other rappers' excesses and blandness. With battle star Nocando, "Least Favorite Rapper" finds Busdriver tackling these issues head on, tossing off insults to Lil' Wayne, New Boyz, and a load of other 'fashionable' hip-hop artists and trends. It makes sense, then, that recently reunited experimental hip-hop troupe Anti-Pop Consortium have remixed the track, crafting a more electronic, synth-driven sound in place of the dusty hip-hop samples that ruled the original." Also, our friends at WFMU are having a remix contest for the track Reflections. All details are here, and prizes include Fluorescent Black 2xLP as well as some limited edition WFMU goodies. Runners Up will each receive one Fluorescent Black CD, one limited-run Free Music Archive sampler CD, and an APC button. And for those in the LA area, the Anti-Pop Consortium gig that was booked for the now-cancelled We The People Festival will now be an opening for the Juan Maclean at the Echoplex.
