It is — in their own words — “a bit of a banger”, and you’d be hard pressed to find someone who would disagree with that. Recorded in their hometown of London, the track takes inspiration from a Switch remix of their own “Way Too Long” single from 2004, cutting Franks’ re-recorded vocal over the stabs of Rhythm Sections’s unsung 1991 rave classic “Emotion”.

Speaking about how he first came across the sample, Dinsdale says; “When I was 15, I used to go round to a family friend's house on my way home from school so I could learn how to DJ. He was 5 years older than me and had the set up… I had zero problem with turning up completely uninvited most days, and probably was really annoying looking back. I learned on hardcore and Jungle and DnB records, mostly bought from Slammin’ Vinyl in Kingston. Years later I got in contact with the guy and digitized the remaining collection for myself and him. This was one of the records and I just parked it up in my ‘things to sample one day’ folder and it came in handy at the right time… I forget about things for months, if not a year or two in this case… until I find a folder lurking on a drive and have a peep through it.”
It arrives at an auspicious moment for the pair, who also celebrate the 20th anniversary of their debut album "Ego War”. A record which went silver and featured hits such as "We Don't Care" and "Face in a Cloud" and — along with follow up hits such as “Shot You Down” and “Gimme That Punk” — established Audio Bullys as one of the most exciting acts in the UK music scene.
Having first begun captivating audiences with their unique musical blend over two decades ago, with “As We Step”, Audio Bullys continue to demonstrate their knack for creating music that is exciting, fresh and always pushing boundaries. With their eclectic mix of influences, and a sound that is uniquely their own, Audio Bullys remain one of the most exciting acts in electronic music.
“It’s just a paving stone really…” say the pair, “but feels like it’s the right one to put down first… Hopefully we’ve landed back on planet Earth at just the right time”
