Swedish producer DJ Seinfeld returns with new single ‘Lost Island’. Released on Ninja Tune the club ready, trance infused track marks DJ Seinfeld’s (real names Armand Jakobsson) first new music since the release of his critically acclaimed 2021 album “Mirrors”, which propelled Armand to new levels receiving praise from The Guardian, RA, Billboard, The Fader, DJ Mag, Clash, XLR8R, Mixmag (who also featured Seinfeld as their 2021 July cover star) and Pitchfork who said “It’s easy to imagine many of these songs soundtracking humongous outdoor festivals, perfectly synchronised with the setting sun”. Radio support came from the likes of Annie Mac, Pete Tong, Jack Saunders and the Blessed Madonna.
Created at the start of 2022 for the “Mirrors” live show ‘Lost Island’ has quickly become a stand out moment within Armands set. The track is “a continuation on from Mirrors”, he says, channelling the same energy as fan favourite album tracks ‘You Already Know’ and ‘Someday’. “I wanted to make something familiar and euphoric to contrast what is in general quite a mellow record” Armand adds, “It almost feels like a forgotten 'grand finale' of the album, in my opinion”.
The new single arrives just a few weeks after “Mirrors (Remixed)” was released, which featured reworks and remixes from a carefully selected host of producers and artists - including salute, Themba, LSDXOXO, Moose Dawa, Trip Tease, godmode, Mona Yim, Kiimi, Closet Yi and Oscar Farrell - who all provided their own individually unique take on original tracks from the album.
Since the release of “Mirrors” last September DJ Seinfeld has taken his impressive “Mirrors Live” tour on the road, including a triumphant debut sell out show at London’s EartH, sold out stops across Europe and North America (which lead to Mixmag to vote him as their #2 Live Act of 2021), and just last week he performed at the iconic London venue KOKO, which sold out 5 months in advance. Seinfeld continues to tour in the coming months with high profile festival slots such as Primavera 2022, Melt Festival and Lost Village.
‘Lost Island’ is out now on Ninja Tune.
