Following the conclusion of his North American headline tour, which saw multiple sold-out shows and the debut BRONSON performance in New York City, Golden Features has enlisted legendary musician and Hot Chip band member Joe Goddard, Australian artist Willo, and Lebanese-Australian producer Human Movement to deliver their unique take on ‘Vigil’.

Starting off the remix package, Joe Goddard offers an enthralling 7-minute house cut of ‘Vigil’. Slowly building with bubbly synth melodies and four-on-the-floor percussion, Joe Goddard experiments with texture to craft a riveting club-ready remix.

Regarding his remix, Joe Goddard says, “I took the hypnotic vocal as a cue to make something darker and more club focused than I normally make - lots of fun and looking forward to playing in the dark somewhere soon.”

Next, Willo steps up with an imaginative remix, putting a softer minimal tech spin on the track. Ethereal synths wrap around melodic basslines, creating a warm, layered soundscape in place of Golden Features’ dark and meddlesome original.

Speaking about her remix, Willo comments, “Taking inspiration from the music video, I wanted to recreate the feeling of slow motion and have a moment like this in the song. I sampled different parts of the vocal and turned it into a lead to create this atmospheric, moody texture during the choruses. This is the version you play the day after the rave.”

Adding a dose of his 90’s underground flavor, Human Movement takes the dark, omniscient sounds of “Vigil” and flips it into a hypnotic breakbeat remake. Kicking up the pace with double-time percussion, Human Movement inserts his retro rave flare throughout the Golden Features original.

Describing his remix, Human Movement says, “I was super excited to be asked to remix ‘Vigil’.  I had a few ideas straight away when I heard the original and made a couple of edits. I ended up going with the garage version as I think that brought out the original elements best.”

Golden Features has turned out to be an apt name for the artist born Tom Stell. It’s a nod to the gold mask he wears while performing, but the Australian electronic producer has had a literal golden run since bursting onto the scene in 2014 with two platinum and six gold ARIA certifications for his tracks, 275+ million global streams for his music, and an acclaimed and beloved 2018 debut album SECT (#1 iTunes, Triple J’s Feature Album). Stell set out on an accompanying tour that included slots at major US festivals including Coachella Ultra Music Festival, and formed the BRONSON project and self-titled album in 2020 with stadium-conquering duo ODESZA.

Joe Goddard is a member of Hot Chip and The 2 Bears, songwriter, producer, DJ, remixer, and co-founder of Greco-Roman Records. Like Four Tet, Caribou, and Jamie xx, Joe Goddard combines a thirst for experimentation, an instinctive understanding of the dancefloors, anda love of left-of-center pop music. As well as working on seven Hot Chip albums and two with Raf Rundell as The 2 Bears, Joe Goddard has remixed the likes of Kraftwerk, New Order, Disclosure, The Chemical Brothers, Dirty Projectors, Wiley, and Jessie Ware, produced tracks for Franz Ferdinand, Bernard Sumner, Little Boots, and more.

Sydney-based Willo explores the duality of deep and moody to uplifting, emotionally-driven electronic music. Taking inspiration from the likes of genre-bending pioneers Logic1000, DJ Seinfeld, Octo Octa, Laurence Guy, and Earth Trax, she is drawn to the idea of eclecticism, through both her sets and productions. Navigating a range of house, breaks, and tech, Willo’s preference resides in no set being the same as the last.

Human Movement has gained widespread recognition for his unique brand of forward-thinking dance music, inspired by a love of hard-edged UK garage, 90’s house and old school rave. Following breakthrough EPs, a pair of smash collaborative singles and vast experience on the live front, the Eora artist has amassed a cult following including nods from respected peers DJ Seinfeld, Logic1000, Ciel, Eris Drew, TSHA, Andras, Daniel Avery plus BBC Radio 1 stalwarts Sarah Story, Danny Howard, and Pete Tong.
