The vibrantly fun project is a product of mutual respect and a close friendship between Jordan and Jam who originally connected online shortly after the release of Jordans break out EP and had long term ambitions to work together. Earlier this year Jordan was invited to attend an Abbey Road x Pitchfork London Session series and quickly invited Jam to join them as a way to finally collaborate. It was there that ‘TNB’ (Day Version) was created after merging eachother's mirroring sketches and sounds, of which Jam comments ‘was a magical coming together..it just fitted’. The track is seen by the two musicians as an exploration of identity and a true celebration of trans joy, which is at the core of both their ethos.

Created 6 months later, after an important period of time for both artists and their transitional journeys, the second track “TNB” (Night Version) was Jam and Jordan’s way of turning their creation into a high-octane, euphoric love letter to the club which also reflected the changes in their lives. The duo comment how both versions “capture different but also parallel moments in time...they represent those different moments in our lives, and both represent an important part of the transitional journeys we have gone on”.

This idea of parallel moments in time colliding is reflected in the artwork, created by artist Morgan Hislop. It shines a light on the duality of night and day and the importance of queer spaces at night.

‘TNB’ is out now on Ninja Tune.
