A rising voice in electronic music, Tygner utilises an arsenal of keys, piano and analog synthesisers to hone in on his own rich sound. His first offering for the imprint sparkles with a kaleidoscope of arpeggiating synths and euphoric vocals before employing grounding basslines and a driving beat, signalling a propulsive evolution of his sound over the next few years.
Shaped by early raving experiences whilst growing up in London’s electronic underground scene, Tygner cites legendary institution Plastic People (former home of legendary residencies by DJs like Theo Parrish, Carl Craig, Four Tet and Floating Points), along with a deep reverence for jungle, dubstep and garage, as key formative influences. During the lockdown of 2020, Tygner started a series of Instagram “Bedroom Rave” live videos that have amassed millions of views, featuring him performing on an array of drum machines and analog synthesisers. His on-the-fly performance series gave viewers a first hand look at songwriting and production processes for many of his songs, while offering previews of their live renditions. These would very quickly garner the attention of dance music heavyweights, including Bicep, Disclosure and DJ Seinfeld. In 2023, Tygner went on to release collaborations with DJ Boring, Pretty Girl and Art School Girlfriend.
Jasper Tygner’s first single for the imprint signals a propulsive evolution of his sound over the next few years. “Before Me” sparkles with a kaleidoscope of arpeggiating synths and euphoric vocals before employing grounding basslines and a driving beat, adding another compelling track to his catalogue. Speaking on the new single Tygner says “‘Before Me’ was one of those tracks that came together super quickly after I found the Ouri vocal. It was a really instinctive experience, I knew exactly where I wanted to take it and came away with an almost finished version after about one day.”
