‘6’s to 9’s’, which features the vocals of London-based singer-songwriter Rationale (one of the first artists to be signed to Dan Smith of Bastille’s Best Laid Plans label), soars as a shimmering highlight, with “some Prince-like purple in [the track] and more than a few opportunities to slink across the dance floor dangerously close to your lover” according to Billboard. To date, the fan-favorite song has amassed over 8 million streams and counting.
The EP is comprised of remixes by a whole host of diverse upcoming and established artists who reimagine the production of the original mix from distinct, yet harmonious, angles. This includes Swedish electronic duo CAZZETTE, production duo Neil Frances, ABSOLUTE. (whose recent productions have been getting radio attention from BBC Radio 1 heavyweight Annie Mac) and LA’s alternative rock sensation Day Wave, who added “it was fun to take something that felt so stylistically different from my songs, and blend it with [my own] sound.”
‘6’s to 9’s’ was first featured on Big Wild’s Superdream album, which received high praise from NPR and Billboard, amassing over 40 million streams to date. The album challenged the boundaries of electronic music and transcended genres, with funk and disco undertones bolstered by alluring indietronica.
Away from music, Big Wild is a passionate environmentalist, recently working on a collaborative video with the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) that featured his track ‘Pale Blue Dot’. With footage provided by filmmaker Roger Fishman, Big Wild delivers the film’s voiceover, speaking to the urgency with which we need to address climate change and calling upon viewers to demand action from world leaders. In addition he is a supporter of 1% For the Planet, a movement to help fund environmental organizations worldwide.
Following a sold-out headline show at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado, Big Wild is currently in the midst of a headline tour comprised of over twenty dates across North America. The ‘Superdream Tour’ sees him bringing the album to life via a brand-new live show, replete with instrumentation and accompanying vocalists.
The ‘6’s to 9’s’ remix package sees the original track reinterpreted and reimagined by artists from across the musical spectrum.
