Captain Murphy, Flying Lotus’s rap alter ego, makes a grand return in 2026 with the release of “Mudhole,” an original track for the Lionsgate film The Furious, in theaters June 12th. The track also features production by Little Snake, FlyLo’s Brainfeeder labelmate.

A menacing rage track, “Mudhole” sounds like the approach of something sinister. Captain Murphy enters on a cold flow, flaunting his power and designer gear amidst the din. Familiar sounds, such as a car unlocking or a cartoonishly dramatic wind whoosh, lose their warmth as they’re absorbed by the song, which bulldozes whatever’s in its path. Get out of the way or get sucked into the mudhole.
