Vegetal: Offshoots EP
by Fakear

— Released 2nd December 2016 on Counter Records

Off the back of a sold out European tour and following his irresistibly energetic debut album Animal, Fakear returns with its counterpart Vegetal: Offshoots - a compilation of Animal B-sides with a distinctively global sound. Inspired by love and the synchronous nature of life, Vegetal is, according to Fakear, “the fulfilment of the circle of life. Animal is nothing without Vegetal; written at the same time and with the same will.”

Sounding as if lifted from an ethereal, acid-soaked Bollywood film, the 7-track release comes as a warm ‘thank-you’ to fans along with a fan-directed official music video contest for Animal single ‘Ankara’. Participants can submit their videos via Facebook message to Fakear’s page until the end of November and the winner will see their creation become the tracks ‘Official Video’, plus the best submissions will receive prizes from Fakear.

Fresh from the ‘Shelter Tour’ with Porter Robinson and Madeon, with a production credit on MIA’s latest record AIM, a standout remix of Years and Years’‘Meteorite’, Fakear has really staked his claim as the figurehead of France’s burgeoning electronic scene by also topping the French Electronic chart with Animal. That's now two Top 10 album releases in France to his name (Animal and 2014’s Sauvage EP). In addition to an already impressive weight of recognition, Fakear has played a string of sold-out shows across Europe, hitting Oval Space in London with his live band (a UK debut) including the 6000 plus capacity Zenith following last year's sold out show at Olympia (just under 2000 capacity), both in his homebase of Paris. Plus there’s DJ support from the likes of Laurent Garnier and Peter Kruder (of Kruder & Dorfmeister) and more for the recent Light Bullet Remixed release featuring producers to watch Bearcubs, Lancelot, Hanami, Makeness, Mona Vale and Simona Drive.
